In rememberance of Maly Or-Meisenzahl
24 Aug 2025Last year on November 1st, 2024, my family lost a much beloved daughter/sister/wife/mother/aunt/great aunt/grandmother far too soon to cancer. Maly Meisenzahl was 57 years young when she could no longer battle her illness.
Maly was the type of person who lived each day like there was no tomorrow; even before she was sick and while she was sick. When she entered a room, you would know because she was loud or her entourage of beloved dogs announced her presence.
She loved to have fun in so many different ways. She loved to sing & dance. She had impeccable style, an appreciation for the finer things in life and had an outfit for every occasion. She loved to travel and take fun trips with her loved ones.
I would consider her a master chef of many different kinds of cuisine but Cambodian(Khmer) cuisine was the food we would make with our family the most. She was a woman of culture and a proud Cambodian woman.
She was always doing the most in any given situation. She was the type of person to check on you and make sure you were okay before taking care of herself. She was the kind of person that would bring her work with her while she travelled, so she could spend more time with people she loved. She loved her family and her dogs more than anything in the world.
This September, Aunty Mama & Uncle Daddy Riders Against Cancer is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to honor my aunt, Maly Or-Meisenzahl, my other family/friends lost to cancer, cancer survivors and to fight kids' cancer.
Right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
We are raising funds through our challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support us by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
