I am overwhelmed with gratitude today! God has shown me such favor all month long in completing my Challenge! ๐ Since I had ridden four times all summer, I wasnโt sure how much strength I would have to make it. I claimed 2 Corinthians 12:9 this monthโฆโMy grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.โ To God be all the glory, honor, and praise! ๐โค๏ธ
I am so blessed to have such a supportive husband and riding group of friends to have shared the miles with me! The Big Wheels showed me so much support and encouragement the entire month! They are some of the strongest riders I know! I am so thankful for all of them! ๐ค๐
Todayโs ride literally started with a bang, as Bob blew a back tire after a warmup lap and the replacement wheel/tire didnโt fit so he wasnโt able to ride. Isaac, Lou, Ken, Lynn and I had a hot, humid and windy ride, but I got in 27 miles to finish! ๐๐ดโโ๏ธโ When we got back, they surprised me with a certificate of recognition from the Big Wheel Club for my efforts this month! I admit it made me shed some tears!
Thank you to all of my prayer warriors for your prayers all month long! I appreciate every one said on my behalf!๐
Thank you to all who have donated to support my fundraising efforts, too! ๐ Since I am not using social media, I wondered how the fundraising would go. Thanks to all of your support, I have exceeded my goal and reached an all-time high this year! ๐
Please continue to remember all the kids and my friend, Thomas, as they are fighting this awful disease. I pray a cure will soon be found. ๐
I am already looking forward to next yearโs GCC! ๐๐๐ดโโ๏ธโค๏ธ๐
Today was another Big Wheel ride. Isaac, Ron, Ken, Lou, Garland, Lynn, and I had a good ride in spite of southern Windy Gail showing up again.๐จ The headwinds were tough, but we prevailed! I wore my new GCC superhero jersey, and it gave me some extra motivation! ๐ช๐ดโโ๏ธ
I added another 29 miles to my total! I have 26 miles left to reach my 475-mile goal! ๐ Lord willing, we will ride again tomorrow and cross the finish line! ๐ดโโ๏ธ
Keep the prayers and support coming! We are in the home stretch now! ๐๐๐ดโโ๏ธโค๏ธ
Yesterday I woke up not feeling well so I took the day to rest. Thankfully, whatever I had left as quickly as it came!๐
This morning, Kelly and I had a good spin and chat! It was good to have her back out on the road again! Of course we observed all of Godโs creation along the way! We have a mutual love for birds, butterflies, and plants, and todayโs ride didnโt disappoint! ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ธ๐โค๏ธ Itโs amazing what God has waiting to show you if you would just pay attention and take the time to look! ๐ ๐
I added another 22 miles, and now I have 55 miles remaining! I hope to finish my miles on Friday if the weather permits.
Keep the prayers and donations coming! Iโve almost made it! ๐๐๐ดโโ๏ธโค๏ธ
Todayโs Big Wheel group ride was a retro/vintage ride celebrating 40 years of riding! Everyone rode their oldest bike and wore their oldest jersey. They have been big supporters of my Challenge so I wore my Big Wheel jersey in their honor.
We had a great ride, and I am 30 miles closer to my goal! ๐ดโโ๏ธ
Keep the support and prayers coming! I hope to finish my miles this week. ๐๐ดโโ๏ธ๐โค๏ธ
We had another great group ride this morning! Isaac, Garland, Lou, Bob, David, Ron, Lynn and I took advantage of a beautiful day! I wore my new 2025 GCC jersey today! ๐ I added another 27 miles to my total! With 10 more riding days left, I only have 107 miles remaining to reach my goal of 475 miles! ๐๐ดโโ๏ธ
Keep the prayers and support coming! Lord willing, I will reach my goal next week! ๐๐ดโโ๏ธโค๏ธ
Our prayers were answered! I have been released from serving Jury duty! ๐ I have worked hard to get ahead on my riding schedule with jury duty looming. Since I now have more time to get my miles finished, I took a much needed rest day off the bike today.
Also, thank you for your prayers for Thomas. He got a good cancer report today! His doctor said his cancer is stable at this time. The nodules have actually shrunk some from the previous scan and the doctor was very encouraged. However, he was not able to receive his immunotherapy treatment today due to some underlying conditions. He will have an appointment next Wednesday to address those concerns. Keep the prayers coming! ๐๐โค๏ธโค๏ธโ๐ฉน
For my picture today, I have included some important information regarding childrenโs cancer and the research that the GCC supports. Thank you so much for your support! Keep the prayers coming! ๐
I am planning to ride tomorrow! ๐๐ดโโ๏ธโค๏ธ
Thankfully, I didnโt have to report for jury duty today! Bobby, Ken, Ron, Garland, Lynn, and I got in a good group ride! I got in another 30 miles! I am so blessed to have such a good cycling group to ride with! They are a remarkable group of strong riders! It was a little breezy but nothing like it was the first of the week!
Pray I wonโt have to report for jury duty tomorrow! Thank you for all of your prayers and support! Keep them coming! ๐๐ดโโ๏ธโค๏ธ
Lynn, Lou, and I ventured out for a tri-county 35-mile ride today. The forecast was for west winds 7-15โฆbut let me just say, Western Windy Gayle showed up in a BIG way today!๐จ (AccuWeather showed 14 sustained with gusts to 20 when we finishedโฆand I believe it!) Note the flag in the picture today! ๐บ๐ธ๐จ We even passed by a street named Gayle on the route!๐จ I didnโt find it too funnyโฆ.itโs spelled differently in Wayne County but she must be related to Gail! ๐. We encountered a section of road construction gravel and had to get off and walk our bikes through. I am so thankful for their help in fighting the wind and getting my miles in today! โค๏ธ Itโs my longest ride this month! ๐ I hope I can get more miles tomorrow but that will depend on whether or not I have to serve jury duty. ๐
Please keep Thomas in your prayers as he goes for scans tomorrow and doctor appointment on Friday. ๐ I have 164 miles left to go! Keep the support and prayers coming! ๐๐ดโโ๏ธโค๏ธ
This morningโs group ride was canceled due to inclement weather. As the day wore on, the skies cleared. I decided I couldnโt let the day go by and not get in some miles. So I went for a solo spinโฆor so I thought. Aunt BB (Buffeting Beatrice) decided she would tag along for the entire ride! ๐ ๐จ๐จ๐จ I should have known I was in for a battle when she blew my bike over while I was getting my shoes on! ๐จ It was definitely a ride with lots of challengesโฆAunt BB, Rainy showed up for a bit, construction and shift change traffic all made it interesting to say the least! I certainly felt like โThe Little Engine That Couldโ today! As I battled the elements, I just kept the kids in my mind who are literally fighting for their lives. My ride certainly didnโt seem as tough when compared to their fight. Iโm glad I could add another 17 miles toward my goal! Please keep them and my friend, Thomas, in your prayers. He has scans later this week. Thank you for all of the encouragement and support youโve given me! ๐๐ดโโ๏ธ๐โค๏ธ
I had a good ride this morning! David, Ken, Lynn and I rode a shorter ride and got in another 21 miles. Windy Gale showed up again and brought her friend, Chilly, along. ๐ฅถ ๐จ A busy Saturday schedule may have shortened my ride, but I was happy to get in some miles! Every mile and donation matters! ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐โค๏ธ Iโm over halfway with my mileage goal! Keep the prayers coming! ๐๐๐ดโโ๏ธโค๏ธ
