Mid September update

It’s me again!

This past weekend, September 14th, was especially meaningful—it was my mom Christina’s birthday. She’s the inspiration behind my challenge this month, and to honor her I set out on a ride that would truly test me: from my house to Yampa Springs in Glenwood Springs and back, a rewarding 63 miles. The route was breathtaking, with the Colorado River and Glenwood Canyon keeping me company the whole way.

Soon after, I headed up valley for a shorter ride to Edwards with plans to continue on to Vail. Mother Nature had other ideas, though—strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning forced me to cut the ride short. Even so, it was still a great ride and a reminder of the unpredictability that comes with the sport.

We’re already halfway through September with just two weeks left! I’d be so grateful if we can reach our donation goal for the incredible kids supported by Mercy Hospital’s cancer program. Thank you all for following along, cheering me on, and supporting this cause that means so much to me.

Let the riding begin!

Hi everyone,

September is here, and with it begins this journey to hit the road and rack up miles in support of children with cancer.

I had hoped to kick things off on opening day, but after taking a small spill during a ride on August 31st, I wasn’t able to start then. Thankfully, I was able to get back out this past weekend and make the most of it—two great rides down in Crested Butte (an absolutely stunning little town surrounded by incredible mountains and nature), and another ride from my house out to Dotsero and back.

Next weekend I’ll be heading to one of my favorite spots: Summit County—home to Frisco, Breckenridge, and Keystone. With fall setting in, the cool breezes and changing colors make it the perfect time to ride.
