My Dear Friends,

As promised, here is my update on how we are doing at reaching our goal of $5,000 as part of the Great Cycling Challenge USA which raises money for The Children’s Cancer Research Fund (a 501 3c). I realize that for many of you, this is the first time you have heard about our fundraising campaign.

So far, our Team Celestial Cycling (Chuck, Navid, Sam, and me) has logged 564 miles towards our goal of 1,000 miles for the month. More importantly, we’ve raised $2,109 towards our goal of $5,000. We are off to an excellent start! I thank everyone whose compassion and generosity has given us this great beginning!

If you are going to make a donation, Tuesday, September 10, is the day to do it! A generous benefactor is going to match all donations made up to $1.5M! Any amount you can afford is deeply appreciated.

Last week, I rode 201 miles motivated by this wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer. This is something I have never done before. I normally ride about 110 miles each week, but I am deeply inspired by this worthwhile cause.

Now is the time for me to dig deep to squeeze out more miles and for you to give generously to help with children’s cancer research. As I’ve mentioned before, $.81 out of every dollar goes directly to children’s cancer research institutions. According to Charity Navigator, Children’s Cancer Research Fund earns an 89% (3 Stars out of 4) rating. “This charity's score is 89%, earning it a Three-Star rating. If this organization aligns with your passions and values, you can give with confidence.”
