My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
Your support will change little lives.
My Stage 4 Melanoma seems to be GONE---but you never know if there are any of the bastard-cells floating around in my bloodstream. Rode this challenge in 2021 and 2022. Over 500 miles in that month of September, 2022. 35 miles x 15 rides. After Sept 22, I started another round of immunotherapies that wore me down. Opdivo & Yervoy. Been off it for 2 yrs now. Been working on the riding and stamina. "Riding to Fight Kids Cancer", and my '21 & '22 jerseys, I wear them exclusively! Get your COLONOSCOPY--it's not a joke, and CHECK/WATCH YOUR SKIN! Any skin changes, moles look funny, VISIT YOUR DERMATOLOGIST ASAP!!!!!! I scraped a mole on my stomach in early 2021. It wouldn't stop bleeding. So I went to my doc, and that started the journey of Stage
3C Melanoma, then it metastasized into my right upper lung making it Stage 4 Melanoma! DEADLY!!! Do NOT be the person who says "it's nothing", when I'm trying to save your life! I went in... You can too!!! Getting old(er) sucks!
