I smile when I see dogs. I smile when I see Elmo. I smile when I see sunsets. I smile when I think of you and you're precious smile. Another year another few hundred miles, Grace. Looking forward to taking you on some rides this September.

My Story

22 Jul 2025

In 2019, because of a beautiful little girl, I hopped on a bicycle. Five years and thousands of miles later...here we are. The things that have improved in my life because of knowing Grace and refusing to let her and other pediatric cancer patients be forgotten are truly incredible. Every time I think I can't be luckier to have known her, she proves me wrong. Keep doing it Grace. And I'll keep pedaling.

  • Week 2: "Kidney Stones and Group Rides"
    17 Sep 2025

As so frequently happens, this past week didn't hold as many miles as I wanted it to. It started off well on Sunday the 7th when I biked to and from a 15 group ride on the greenway! Trouble started brewing on the way home though. I had a lot of lower back pain going on which developed into a whole kidney stone by Tuesday. (To be clear...it was a kidney stone the whole time.) 😂

In an effort to keep myself feeling well enough to keep the riding up the rest of the month, I missed a lot of miles last week.

    And you know what?

    That's okay.

Because one thing cycling in general and the challenge especially has taught me is...just because I miss miles doesn't mean I forget what I'm riding for. Just because I prioritize rest early in the month doesn't mean I'm not going to meet my ride goal for the challenge. Just because I fall short of my mile goal doesn't mean that anyone who has donated judges me or feels disappointed by my effort. I've still ridden for Grace, brought Grace to people's minds, and watched money get raised so our kids don't have to fight alone.

That's what this challenge is for. I'm just glad to get to play a part in making a difference. Thanks for being here with me and donating and following along. Love you all.
