I'm Riding For

Alex, Aurora, Cailey, Kailyn, Max, Mason & Walter

We have another Whitman friend I'm riding for. Alex has been battling cancer for the last 6.5 years (just after his 4th birthday.) He has had 5 surgeries to remove tumors, several rounds of radiation treatments to his brain and spine, immunotherapy, IV Chemo and oral chemo medications on a daily basis. Alex is seen at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and has an MRI of his brain and spine every 8-10 weeks at Boston Children's Hospital. Alex's most recent MRI showed an aggressive increase in the size of one tumor on his spine that has caused weakness in his legs and the need to use a wheelchair. He had emergency surgery on Sept 12th to remove this tumor and he is currently inpatient at Children's Hospital. As of now there is no cure for Alex's cancer. The goal is to slow the growth as much as possible and give him the best quality of life for as long as they can. To all of our little friends fighting and to all of my parent & caregiver friends stressing out on a daily basis, we are here for you. You are never alone.
