My Story
For the 2nd year this september, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Hooray!
My daughter was 18 when she experienced generalized seizures in 2011 which landed her at sharp mermorial hospital here in san diego, CA. Luckily in 2007 a cure was discovered by a spanish doctor doing cancer research in the USA calling it NMDAR encephalitis. It was the detailed information on how to manage her case and knowing that it was curable that led to my daughter's eventual recovery. For her case, she spent 8 months in the ICU for unstoppalble seizures, 2 major surgeries, 3 months on rehab to learn how to eat, speak and walk again! 3 yrs after her discharge, she finished her college degree and is thriving.
I lost a brother to cancer and now my sister and brother in law are fighting their own battles. I am optimistic for their recovery but I know their journey won't be easy for them and their caretakers.
My Hope is that sooner modern technology like Ai and gene technology will find a cure for all illness not only cancer. But it needs money for researchers, Phds and laboratories to continue the battle ahead for us. So doctors or even we will know how to treat ourselves with just a vaccine or a pill! Its really not impossible!
Lets all make a donation to give all of us specially kids a the brighter future we deserve.
