I'm Riding For
Diana Stager

My mom is the kind of person whose kindness and joy leave a mark on everyone she meets. She never knows how much she can change the people around her just by being herself. Gifted with a smile that carries the warmth of pure maternal love, her presence has always been a steady source of comfort and strength. For as long as I can remember, she has called me “bright eyes” —a reminder of how deeply she believes in me. No matter where life takes me, being around her has always felt like being home.
My Story
I’m riding 500 miles in honor of my mom.
I’ve joined the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer and save little lives. Every mile I ride is in honor of my mom’s strength, and for the children who deserve the chance to grow up cancer-free.
In late 2021, my mum was blindsided by a cancer diagnosis. She has always been the kindest, most compassionate person I’ve ever known—the one who gave selflessly and loved deeply. Suddenly, life shifted. Watching her face this battle has been heartbreaking, but also inspiring. She continues to fight with courage, grace, and a strength that amazes me every day.
When she began having more troubling difficulties, I decided to move back home so I could be close to her and help with whatever she needed. Some days are tough—appointments, uncertainty, exhaustion—but it has taught me the importance of sticking together as a family and never giving up hope.
That’s why this challenge means so much to me. Cancer doesn’t just affect adults; it steals childhoods. Kids should be running, laughing, and dreaming—not spending their days in hospitals. Yet every year, thousands of children are diagnosed with cancer. The Great Cycle Challenge funds vital research that leads to better treatments, more cures, and brighter futures.
Riding 300+ miles isn’t easy, but that’s the point. The distance is symbolic of the long road patients and families face. Every hill, every mile, is a reminder of the struggles they endure. My ride is fueled by my mom’s fight, by the courage of kids battling cancer, and by the hope of a world where fewer families hear those devastating words.
I can pedal the miles, but I need your support to make them count. Every donation goes directly toward lifesaving research and helps give kids the future they deserve.
Your support means everything—to me, to my family, to my mom, and to every child who deserves more tomorrows. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can save little lives. 🚴♂️💛
