I'm Riding For
Fred Richardson Jr. and Sr.

Grandpa Richardson passed at the ripe old age of 85. His cancer had been eating at him for almost twenty years before he told any of us. I will always mourn his loss. As he taught me many valuable lessons, including the benefits of hard work. He also taught me the benefits of giving. I'm not a wealthy man, and so I ride in his memory. Doing what he would have done if he could. Now my father is battling the same cancer. I know they both would want me to do what I'm doing.
My Story
This is my third year riding with The Great Cycle Challenge, and I have loved every moment of it in the past. This year I ride again, to raise money and awareness of our cause. We will stamp out childhood cancer one day, and it starts with the work we are doing now. Won't you please give? Every single dollar matters, and it's everything for these children. Not only does your money go to fund research to eliminate childhood cancers, the research they've done in the past has gone on to save mothers, fathers, siblings, and grandparents. We can do this! We just need your help. I won't allow the heart attack I had in March 2021 to stop me. I'm going to peddle through each and every 500 miles of this trek. Granted, I have upgraded to an e-bike with peddle assist. I can't go forcing myself into another heart attack like I did riding my normal bicycle.
