I ride this fight for childhood cancer for all the children that have fought the battle and for all those that are fighting their battle. I ride every ride in the memory of my mother who lost her battel when I was 15. She is my strength.

My Story

I have been part of the Great Cycle Challenge community since the beginning in 2015. However, due to health issues this is my 8th year physically participating.

This September I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to help fight kid's cancer. I am passionate about this cause. All funds raised go to support the work of Children's Cancer Research Fund, a national nonprofit that funds researchers whose ideas are making the greatest impact for kids fighting cancer.

Why do I ride? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer. I have had the opportunity receive stories and thank you's from or about children that have benefited from this research. I have heard stories from cyclist that had the opportunity to meet with researchers that have received funds.
