I'm Riding For
Joslyn Hafner and Gabrielle Hernandez

The ring of that bell will forever be etched in my memory as both the greatest and saddest sound. I am so grateful for the successful outcome of my daughter, Joslyn’s case and for being able to hear that bell to mark the end of her treatments. But that ring also brought on a wave of sadness in me for the families of kids that were never able to hear it ring for them.
My Story
As many know, my daughter and niece are childhood cancer survivors but there are many children in this world that aren’t so fortunate. The ordeal itself is challenging and heartbreaking even with positive outcomes. Sadly the gravity of it is something most are blind to unless it hits closer to home.
While treatments for childhood cancers have made great strides and higher percentages of positive outcomes, in the past two years we have felt the urgency of the need for further treatment advancements and the devastating heartbreak of those percentages of children that lose their battles. Last year with a heavy heart we attended the funeral of a girl we met in clinic with the same diagnosis as Joslyn and the previous year Joslyn lost a dear friend from Camp Discovery. Even though it has been three years since her passing, Joslyn morns the loss of her friend at camp every year.
This is why this September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge again to fight kids' cancer!
Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve. You can also join our team (Slow sPokes) and ride with us!
Your support will change little lives.
It did for Joslyn and Gabrielle 💜❤️
In memory of Joslyn’s friend Sofia and her other friend from clinic🙏
