Emma Cummings

I never had the pleasure of meeting Emma in person, but I've been connected on Facebook with her father Chris for quite a long time. I watched with hope as she fought her cancer, but her body finally failed her in May of 2022. I'm pleased to ride for the memory of this very special girl and for all the others who are fighting this horrible disease.

My Story

This September, for the sixth year in a row, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! I'm going to ride at least 800 miles (I do have electric assist, but I'm no spring chicken) and I have set a fundraising goal of $1000.

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
