I'm Riding For
Alicia Foss

I ride every year in memory of my cousin Alicia who was the youngest child diagnosed with leukemia at 5 weeks old in 1982. Doctors told her family she wouldn’t live past the age of two. However, she went into remission just before her second birthday and stayed cancer free for the rest of her young life. The treatments did take their toll and she was eventually confined to a wheelchair at the age of 24 due to pulmonary fibrosis as a result of chemo at such a young age. She received a lung transplant at the age of 28 that let her finally do the things we all take for granted. She traveled and enjoyed life for the next two years, before succumbing to pneumonia and passing away at the age of 30.
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
